Fellowship / Club Meeting @ Star Cruise

Star Cruise "Pieces"!!!! Here we come!!! We all were very excited and looking forward to dine together on the ship. The buffet was nice and we had our good time together, our President Kelvin treat us Beers, what a relaxing and enjoying moment.

Meeting call to order! we had our 2 hours fruitful meeting, club matters and projects being discussed and comfirmed. Towards the end of the meeting, everyone gave our IPP Ng Chek Siang a Birthday Greeting Surprise!!! We all sang the birthday song on board and gave him a present! IPP Ng smile warmly and touched.

Children’s ‘Movie Day”

Organizer: NEW CENTURY LIONS CLUB OF PENANG ISLAND

In conjunction with the celebration of Children’s Day in Malaysia, New Century Lions Club of Penang Island is pleased to organize a Children’s Movie Day at Golden Screen Cinema, Gurney Plaza for the above mentioned orphanages in Penang Island.

The selected movie is a cartoon named “SAMMY'S ADVENTURES: THE SECRET PASSAGE”, which is scheduled to be shown in cinema nationwide in Malaysia on 7^th Oct 2010. The cartoon is directed by Ben Stassen, it follows the adventures of Sammy, a sea turtle, who crosses the oceans in search of Shelly, the love of his life. Along the way, he dodges every possible danger and witnesses how humans are hurting the planet. Funny and engaging, the movie is accessible to the entire family and has been described as “Finding Nemo” for the next generation.

The theme of the movie blends well with Penang State Government’s initiative “Cleaner, Greener Penang” where its objectives are to restore the living environment, to deliver a cleaner and greener city, and to improve the quality of life. Through this, we wish to raise public awareness on the importance of looking after our mother earth.

The event will be funded from public donations collected by the members of New Century Lions Club of Penang Island. The proceeds raised for this meaningful event will be utilized to pay the cost of the movies, drinks, snacks, goodies to be distributed to the children and lunch. All remaining proceeds will be equally divided and donated to respective orphanage to fund their operation.
